In 2017 there were 3,857 unsheltered homeless people in Seattle, an increase of 37% from 2015, despite more than a 50% increase in spending on services by the City Council in the same period.
City Council: Where’s the plan?
Homelessness is one of the most pressing issues facing our city. Since the beginning of 2017, homelessness has increased by 37% - and even the number of kids in encampments and without stable homes is rising. Yet City Council is spending $70 million a year with no result.
